For the first week of development, we started by laying the foundations. We spent most of our week working on defining any parts of the game that still needed developing and solidifying. We looked at our mechanics, level design and art/sound direction and came to a conclusion on what will be included in the final product. At the start of the week, we created a plan to layout the development timeline and how each week will be used.

Walking
Punching
Kicking
Here is a gallery of sprites I made that demonstrates some of the frames of attacks that we will have in our game. This depicts the player character, Shao Kang, in the game's new art-style as well as doing a variety of movements such as walking, and punches and kicks inspired by Wing Chun.
This week I also got started on very preliminary set-up in Unity, with the help of Ross and Jake I created the project, began version control using GitHub and GitHub's desktop app, and started getting used to Unity's interface and controls.
We also gathered additional feedback on some early stuff for the game, such as the art-style concepts shown in the gallery above, as well as the mechanical ideas, which was important in understanding what people expect from a game like this, and what we're doing correctly.
Generally people like the core concept of the mechanic, and would like to see the complexity and difficulty pushed, so that is something I will aim to improve on in the development of the game.
Thank you from all of us at The Mishir Corporation!
