Two Point Studios and the Documentary
Two Point Studios and the Documentary
This week, we visited Two Point Studios, and released our official documentary on the making of Memento Mactāre onto our YouTube Channel. At Two Point, we had lots of different in-depth talks from employees, detailing their journey into the gaming industry, as well as the story of Two Point's own releases, as well as tips and tricks and advice they wanted to relay to us to help us in our careers as well. After this, we had an extended playtesting session where many of the employees came round and tested our games.
For The Mishir Corporation, we received lots of helpful insight into how we could improve our game in subtle ways in order to make the game as approachable as we desire. While some of the advice may not be feasible to be implemented in the time we have left, we would certainly like to do what we can, including implementing it post-hand-in for the Final Major Project. Some of the feedback we received included making the correlation between attack icons and their inputs more clear, making it clearer that attacks must be done in a specific order at bosses, as many playtesters assumed it could be done randomly, and adding skip buttons for dialogue.
We visited Two Point Studios in Farnham on Wednesday from 11:00-16:00, it was a long day, but we learned a lot, and overall it was a very valuable trip.
After a long wait, our documentary is now uploaded to our channel for your viewing pleasure! We hope you enjoy!
With such a short amount of time left in this semester, and therefore time left until the 1.0 release of Memento Mactāre, we are diligently working on completing every last remaining feature until the game is complete. This means we'll have less to show off each week, and that's why this week is a lighter update, but don't worry, next week we'll be talking about the sound of Memento Mactāre, and while not every sound effect will be previewable, we'll still have some good stuff for you to hear! After that, it's the final week, which will be dedicated to summarising development and providing links to the game on Itch. In the meantime, thank you from all of us at The Mishir Corporation!
