Playtesting (Tobi pictured)
This week, we tested our current build with our peers from throughout the campus.
This is my first official playtest with a proper sort of "prototype" with art features and most of the first room's moves in the game.
Besides that, I also gathered more feedback on the gameplay and began inputting some animations with Jake's help.
As for the biggest focus of development currently, all of Shao Kang's sprites have now been completed and coloured, as well as the basic enemies and the first boss, and I have begun fleshing out the UI elements as they will appear in-game. Since we are so far into the semester, I've been increasing my art output with the hopes that the coding side of things won't take as long as I imagine, and that everything will work out smoothly as I build each room. Besides that, here are some previews for the game we've been working on this week:
Now that the playtest is over, we have decent amount of player feedback that we can use to refine the game and fix some of the minor issues. We are also preparing to make other marketing materials, or trailers and other things to help promote the game outside of our social media posts as well as this blog of course.
Thank you from all of us at The Mishir Corporation!
